EcoInterpreter Guiding is a hybrid of more
traditional Heritage Interpretation. EIG has been developing since the
mid-1990’s along with Ecotourism.
EcoInterpreter Guiding addresses the
unique requirements of adventure guides, traveling light, with no
access to high tech audio or computer systems. EI Guides blend natural
and cultural history knowledge with non-verbal
communications, educational methods,
program development, adjusting their engagements to accommodate
the
backgrounds of their clients.
Eco Interpreter guides are passionate! They are committed to helping you become more at ease with the
natural world. They are. Provocative, they will leave
you with more to ponder than you arrived with!

In
1995 the Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council
(CTHRC) developed Occupational Standards for Heritage Interpreters and for
Adventure Guides. Since 1998, a few Community Colleges have started to make
Natural History Interpretation a mandatory course of study for Adventure
Guide Certification.
The principles and
skills of Heritage Interpretation are critical tools of exceptional, natural
and cultural history guides, story tellers, performers, educators.
EcoInterpreter Guiding, recognizes the differences between
government sites and private companies. Adventure Guides are very unique low
technology, have ever changing environments, work and seasonal schedules.
Company owners have unique staffing challenges and global competitions.

private education facility in Canada to have
Certified, Professional Interpreters on staff. We have over 30 years of education, eco and

rural, remote communities. Training which is effective and affordable.
EcoInterpreter's Credo
With all do care, respect, honour and dignity, speak
on behalf of those who have no human voice - those of the Feather, Fur, Fin
and Root!
It is having trained nature
interpreters on staff which has made Knight
Inlet Lodge a financial success!
