The staff and support trainers are passionate about the natural and cultural history of Canada. Rod Burns, lead trainer has lived and worked across Canada, from Newfoundland, Ontario, Alberta to the 4 corners of British Columbia. In his travels he has fished, panned for gold, canoed and kayaked - even bicycled solo across Canada in 85 days. His ground level experiences, now supported by thousands of photographs, reference books help to build his training modules.  He has lived and worked in cities but his love continues to be the rural communities and nearby wild lands.

Over the years, he has been gifted with wonderful stories, legends and experiences from people having lifetimes of more experience with the land.
It is with their encouragement that he now helps participants learn of the cultures which make up Canada. His workshops for adventure guides new to the region open up a hunger in the guides to learn more - to share what they've learned - to ask about what they don't understand!
Equally, if not more exciting is hearing stories, histories, legends from individuals, recounting grandmothers stories told generations ago!
